BBSS Gallup International has more than 10 years of experience in conducting studies on the election day, aimed at forecasting results of the actual vote and making those forecasts available to the public and media hours after the closing of the voting sections.
The two main types of study in this area are Exit polls and Fast counting.
Exit polls are based on a representative sample of voting sections, where people selected at random are asked to repeat their vote after leaving the premises where they voted.
Exit polls provide the following information:
| | • | Structure of the vote: percentages achieved by political parties or individual candidates, depending on the type of elections studied |
| | • | Profile of voters: gender/age/education/other |
| | • | Electoral activity |
Fast counting is based on calculating votes from a drawn representative sample of the actual electoral
documents of the voting sections.
Fast (or parallel) counting results are considered the method that provides the most accurate forecast on actual
election results, prior to their final announcement of the Electoral committee.
BBSS Gallup International has accumulated large experience in both exit polls and fast counting at general
(parliamentary), presidential and local authorities elections not only in Bulgaria,
but also in neighboring countries in Southeastern Europe, such as: Romania, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Kosovo.
